About Me

My photo
Ashley D. Dopson
Hi! My name is Ashley Dopson. In the last nine years I have attempted to facilitate and lead an art program that recognizes imagination is important. A standard based art where students delve into the design process of a studio artist while being fully engaged in state standards and practices. There is nothing that gives me more joy than to see Intrinsic satisfaction from students who previously felt incapable of producing great art. I was the 2011/2012 teacher of the year at Hunter b. Andrews STEM school and have found great success in integrating social studies science and language arts into my art lessons. I believe art has the power to make lifelong connections and memories in ones life. I am a certified art teacher in both Georgia and Virginia. My favorite artists are Pablo Picasso and Varnette P. Honeywood. Education:Hampton University (BA) and Cambridge College(M.Ed) I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and raised in Sandy Springs Ga. I have a dog named Bud and I enjoy being near the ocean. I am a professional artist and you can view my work at www.ashleydpaints.com
